Minecraft DDoS protection in Warsaw

Warsaw, Poland (WAW) is one of seven dedicated Cryo PoPs — full Layer-7 Minecraft filtering at 52.23°N 21.01°E, behind Cloudflare's anycast edge.

Poland has one of the most active Minecraft communities in the world — and one of the most attacked. Polish servers were the reason we built a dedicated Warsaw PoP instead of serving the region from Frankfurt: WAW keeps Polish and Eastern European players inside their home networks, at 5–15 ms instead of a 30+ ms round-trip to Germany.

Eastern European attack traffic also tends to be local, which makes filtering it locally far cheaper and faster. Cryo at WAW handles the region's signature join-flood attacks with the same rate-limit + auto-UAM pipeline as every other PoP, and geo-steering means a Polish network can keep its backend in Warsaw while serving Western players through Frankfurt.

Who connects through WAW

Routing is automatic: anycast delivers each player to their nearest entry city, and geo-steering picks the best Cryo PoP from there. If Warsaw is ever unavailable, traffic shifts to Frankfurt (FRA) without a config change.

Same pipeline as every PoP

WAW runs the complete Arvoris stack — nothing regional about the protection: L4/L7 DDoS mitigation, the antibot pipeline with CryoLimbo verification, AntiVPN, MOTD edge caching and real client IPs via PROXY protocol. Plans start free for up to 15 players.
