The first hop is local — Cloudflare has anycast presence in Sydney, Melbourne and other Australian cities — and the leg to the Singapore PoP travels Cloudflare's private backbone rather than the public internet, so the connection is stable and low-jitter even if the absolute number is higher than a raw Sydney-hosted server.
Is 90–130 ms good enough for a Minecraft server?+
For survival, SMPs, skyblock, creative and most minigames: yes, comfortably. For strict competitive PvP (kits, duels) where every tick of hit registration matters, it's a real trade-off — we'd rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. Many Australian communities accept it for the protection; hardcore PvP networks should talk to us about Enterprise.
Why doesn't Arvoris have an Australian PoP?+

Does the anycast entry actually help if the PoP is in Singapore?+
Yes, measurably. Without it, your players' packets cross the Pacific or Indian Ocean over whatever public routes their ISP picks that day. With it, they hand off to Cloudflare a few milliseconds from home and the long haul rides a managed backbone — same average latency, far less jitter and packet loss, which is what actually makes a connection feel bad.
Can my server stay hosted in Australia?+
Yes. Your backend stays wherever it is — a Sydney VPS, an Australian Minecraft host, anything with an IP and port. Arvoris sits in front via one DNS record; only the routing to players changes. Real player IPs still reach your server via PROXY protocol on every plan, including Free.
